A Fresh Smell

About a month ago, my sweet husband purchased a used car. Unfortunately, the vehicle had an unpleasant odor in it. Because of the strong smell in the car, my husband didn’t even want to drive it anywhere. So, he began researching ways to remove pungent odors from vehicles. He put cat litter, newspapers, baking soda, vinegar, and fabric softeners in the car. My determined spouse also took his vehicle to a professional auto detailer in order to have the carpets in it shampooed. Finally, my husband replaced the cabin air filter in the automobile. Thankfully, his hard efforts paid off. Once the bad smell was gone, he began enjoying driving his new car. On this blog, I hope you will discover tips to help you keep your vehicles smelling fresh all of the time. Enjoy!

3 Tips For Taking Care Of Your Car's New Paint Job

Whether you got your car painted because you had to have body work done or because you wanted to give it a fresh look, you probably want to do what you can to protect your paint job and keep your car looking great for as long as possible. Luckily, following these tips when you have a fresh paint job can help.

1. Avoid Washing It Too Soon

You might be tempted to wash your car as soon as you pick it up, since you probably want to show off the new paint job. However, it is important to allow the new paint job and the outer coating to dry and cure completely before you do so. Otherwise, if the paint is even a little bit "tacky," washing it could mess it up. It's best to wait a couple of weeks after having your car painted before you break out the bucket and rag.

2. Keep It Waxed

Once it is safe to do so and once you have washed your car, you can add a coat of wax. This will make it really shine and will show off your new paint job, but it has a more practical purpose as well. A coat of wax that has been applied properly can serve as a protection for your car against dirt and debris. It can help prevent minor scratches from abrasive materials like dirt and sand and can help keep your paint job looking great for much longer.

3. Park It in the Shade

When the sun shines down on your car, it can slowly cause the paint to fade. This can be even more noticeable on darker-colored vehicles than lighter ones. Whenever possible, consider parking your car in the shade so that it is protected from the sun's harsh UV rays. If you don't have a garage or carport — either of which are truly ideal for protecting your car from the sun and from the elements in general — then parking under a tree can help shield your car from the sun. Not only will this help protect your paint job and prevent it from fading prematurely, but it can also make your car much more comfortable to get into on a hot day.

As you can see, there are a few steps that you can follow that will allow you to take care of your car's new paint job. If you follow these tips, you can keep your car looking great for years to come. For more information, contact a professional in your area or visit a website like http://www.dattagetowingandautorepair.com.
